PB Hocking Engines Overhaul

Background
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District is issuing this solicitation for services related to overhauling the Detroit Diesel Main Propulsion Engines, Twin Disc Marine Transmissions, and Detroit Diesel Ships Service Generators for the P/B HOCKING.

The HOCKING is owned and operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District. The Government intends to award a firm fixed price contract for this work due to an engine casualty that affected the Starboard Main Engine and necessitated overhauls on both engines and associated equipment.

Work Details
The contractor shall perform the following tasks in sequence:
1. Procure all new Detroit Diesel Certified (DDC) parts, gaskets, etc., necessary for a complete teardown and overhaul of each engine, including removal of major components such as cylinder heads and blowers from the HOCKING needed for procurement of DDC remanufactured parts.
2. Perform all overhaul work and testing of the engines.
3. Transport the engines to the Government Shipyard for reinstallation. No work will commence until all new DDC or DDC certified remanufactured parts necessary for the overhaul are in hand and the vessel has been placed into a shipyard for removal of the engines.

The work will be performed at a Government Shipyard as specified in the contract.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must meet the Small Business Set Aside - Total (SBA) requirement. Additionally, bidders are expected to have experience with overhauling Detroit Diesel engines and possess any necessary certifications or licenses related to marine engine repair.
