Background
The Indian Health Service, specifically the Shiprock Service Unit at the Northern Navajo Medical Center (NNMC), located in Shiprock, New Mexico, has a requirement for paper shredding services. NNMC is a 55-bed hospital that provides various clinical services and serves approximately 150,000 outpatients and 2,800 inpatients annually.

The General Services Department at NNMC is responsible for support services across the hospital, including compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding sensitive patient information. The goal of this contract is to ensure the secure destruction of materials containing sensitive information to mitigate fire hazards and comply with federal regulations.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide onsite paper shredding services on a monthly basis or as needed. This includes:
1. Providing all materials, labor, tools, transportation, equipment, and other necessary items to complete the services.
2. Conducting shredding services in compliance with HIPAA rules and regulations.
3. Utilizing their own shredding truck to perform onsite shredding at NNMC.
4. Providing pick-up of (36) 95-gallon lockable bins from designated locations throughout NNMC for shredding and returning empty bins post-service.
5. The vendor will coordinate with the Contract Representative Officer (COR) or Technical Point of Contact (TPOC) regarding the amount of shredding to be done during each visit.
6. Obtaining signatures from department representatives before service completion.

Period of Performance
The contract period is twelve (12) months with options to extend for three additional years, covering a total potential performance period of four years.
