Pale Cyst Nematode Lab Floor Wax Service

Background
The USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is issuing this solicitation for the Pale Cyst Nematode (PCN) Lab Floor Wax Service. The mission of APHIS is to protect U.S. agriculture and natural resources from pests and diseases.

This contract aims to maintain the integrity of the PCN laboratory environment by ensuring that the laboratory floor is compliant with federal permit requirements, specifically under the PPQ-526 permit, which mandates that the floor must be uniform, cleanable, and free from soil or infested materials.

Work Details
The contractor will provide professional floor maintenance services for the PCN laboratory located at 2281 W Heyrend Way, Idaho Falls, ID 83402. The services include: stripping existing wax, applying new wax, and polishing the linoleum floor in two rooms measuring 27 ft. x 57 ft. and 23 ft. x 11 ft.

The contractor must use a commercial heavy-duty wax stripper to remove aged wax and grime; a high-quality neutralizer to eliminate alkaline residues; apply two coats of a commercial seal/finish product; and four coats of high-quality wax designed for heavy traffic. The contractor will also supply necessary tools such as scrubbing pads, mops, wax applicators, and a wet/dry vacuum for completing the job. All spent wax stripping solution must be disposed of properly by the contractor.
