This action is necessary to provide temporary housing units for applicants seeking assistance due to the impacts of Hurricanes Helene and Milton. The contract aligns with the Direct Housing Assistance Program established under the Stafford Act, which allows for assistance following a Presidential Disaster Declaration.

Work Details
The contractor will provide four Mobile Home Unit (MHU) lots/pads at Big Tree Mobile Home and RV Park.

The lease is required to accommodate temporary housing units for individuals affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. The anticipated price for the lease will be determined fair and reasonable based on market research, which involved phone calls to ten potential vendors in the state. The average cost of similar Commercial Park lots was found to be $1,257 per month, including utilities.

Period of Performance
The length of the Direct Housing Assistance Program is set for 18 months from the date of the Presidential Disaster Declarations: September 28, 2024, for Hurricane Helene and October 11, 2024, for Hurricane Milton. Extensions may be determined by US Congress.
