Background
Naval Facilities Engineering Command Atlantic intends to issue a Request for Proposal for a Design-Bid-Build, Firm Fixed Price contract for the construction of the P242 Combat Rescue Helicopter Simulator Facility at Aviano, Italy.

Work Details
The project involves constructing an 870 square meter addition and renovating an existing squadron operation facility (Building 7300) to support the Combat Rescue Helicopter simulator. Renovations include removal/alteration of exterior walls, windows, doors, utilities, and the roof.

The primary facility will feature an operational flight trainer and simulator bay, multipurpose mission planning and computer training rooms, maintenance and utility areas. Construction will include reinforced concrete foundations and floor slab, cement plaster stucco exterior with clay tile roofing compatible with the existing facility. An overhead crane installation is required in the simulator bay.

Supporting facilities will include associated utilities, pavements, site improvements such as unexploded ordnance survey, communications, passive force protection measures, and storm drainage/low impact development.

Approximately 925 days after notice to proceed.
