OXF - Geothermal Decommission   2

Background
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), specifically the National Ocean Service (NOS) Cooperative Oxford Laboratory, is seeking to decommission a vertical closed loop geothermal system that has been deactivated. This initiative aims to enhance building climate control management and ensure compliance with environmental requirements, thereby supporting NOAA's research mission.

Work Details
The contractor is responsible for providing all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and transportation necessary for the deactivation and abandonment of 24 geothermal wells. Key tasks include:

- Conducting a site survey prior to project implementation;
- Mobilizing necessary equipment and materials;
- Removing and disposing of existing coolant in accordance with regulations;
- Installing bentonite slurry into the well field per industry standards;
- Returning the site to level ground and seeding with local grass mix.

The contractor must manage the project to minimize disruption to daily operations at the facility, ensuring that all work complies with applicable safety and environmental regulations. Additionally, all work must be performed during normal business hours unless otherwise directed by NOAA's point of contact.

Period of Performance
All work associated with this project shall be completed within 90 days from the date of award.
