LOCATION: 5 miles SE of Springfield

WORK: The project includes seismic retrofit and repair of four bridges. Riprap scour protection is included for two of the bridges. This work consists of: structure repair, structure seismic retrofit, excavation, and riprap.

Background
The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) seeks to award a firm-fixed-price construction contract under the Seismic Plus program to seismically retrofit four bridges on OR-58 between US-97 and I-5.
The work is intended to create lifelines for transporting supplies following a major seismic event and maintain access between Central Oregon and the Willamette Valley.

Work Details
The project includes seismic retrofit and repair of four bridges: Bridge #05286 (MP 2.46), Bridge #07894 (MP 33.24), Bridge #02073C (MP 35.98), and Bridge #01519A (MP 38.25).
Work consists of structure repair, structure seismic retrofit, excavation, and riprap scour protection for two bridges.
Scope of work includes:
Division 150 – Project Requirements: Construction Survey & Staking; Contractor Quality Control and Assurance; Contractor Sampling & Testing; Schedules for Construction Contracts; Soil Erosion & Sediment Control (silt fence, fiber roll, stabilized construction entrance).
Division 200 – Earthwork: Clearing & Grubbing; Removal of Structures & Obstructions (bridge superstructure end frames, USGS gage station, concrete); Blasting Consultant services; Structure Excavation (shoring and bracing, cofferdams, dewatering).
Division 250 – Slope Reinforcement and Retaining Walls: Placed Riprap, Method A, Class 3.
Division 300 – Aggregate and Base Courses: Aggregate Surface Course.
Division 400 – Asphalt Pavements & Surface Treatments: Asphalt Concrete; Asphalt Pavement Crack Sealing & Filling.
Division 500 – Rigid Pavement: Concrete Pavement Restoration.
Division 550 – Bridge Construction: Driven Piles (sheet pile, sheet pile tie-back); Structural Concrete (Class A [AE], Class S [Seal], repair concrete, clean and reseal joints, expansion joints); Reinforcing Steel; Steel Structures (bolt replacement, rivet replacement, jacketing, end anchorage, end frame, truss anchoring system, seat bracket); Waterproofing (membrane); Structural Concrete Injection & Crack Repair; Temporary Works (temporary support structure/bridge jacking); Painting (steel structure); Bearing Devices; Micropiles (installation, load verification test, proof load test); Concrete Overlays for Bridge Decks; Plastic Structures (fiber reinforced polymer strengthening).
Division 600 – Incidental Construction: Underdrains and pavement edge drains; Monuments & Markers; Rental Equipment; General Labor; Turf Establishment; Plantings (trees, shrubs, vines, groundcovers); Permanent Traffic Control; Permanent Pavement Markings; Temporary Traffic Control; Roadside Development (remove and reset boat ramp).

Period of Performance
Contract performance must be completed by January 2025.

Place of Performance
Approximately 5 miles southeast of Springfield, Oregon, on OR-58 between US-97 and Interstate 5, covering mileposts 2.46, 33.24, 35.98, and 38.25.
