Background

The semiconductor supply chain is global and interconnected, with chipmakers relying on numerous suppliers for complex materials and tools. NIST aims to address visibility gaps in the semiconductor market's supply chain and R&D ecosystem by conducting critical measurement science (metrology) necessary for developing new materials, packaging, and production methods in chip manufacturing.
