Description

Posted: Sept. 12, 2024, 12:09 p.m. EDT

SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is operated by Stanford University for the Department of Energy. As a management and operating contractor, subcontracts awarded by the Laboratory are not Federal procurements, and are not directly subject to the Federal Acquisition Regulations in 48 CFR. Nonetheless, certain Federal laws, Executive Orders, and regulations may affect our DOE approved purchasing system, as required by statute, regulation, or contract terms and conditions.

Amendment 01:

The following Addendum 01 is being issued for the subject Request for Quote: 349065_Optical Measurement System.

Answer to the questions in red:

  1. What is the size range of the mirrors to be measured?

From 100x10 mm up to 1400x50 mm

  1. What is the wavelength range reflected by the mirror?

Used for X-rays but will reflect all visible wavelengths as well with at least 50% reflectivity.

  1. What is the coating of the mirror?

Varies. May be silicon, platinum, B4C, rhodium, gold.

  1. What is the required resolution for the 3rd rotational displacement angle?

Same as other angles but not required to be optical (could be gravity direction based for instance)

This Addendum modifies the Request for Quotation and must be acknowledged. Failure to acknowledge all addenda could make your proposal non-responsive. Please confirm that the submitted proposal is not changed because of this addendum. If proposal sent is revised because of this, please submit the revise proposal.

The following changes are hereby made to the appropriate documents contained the above-mentioned Request for Quotation (RFQ). All other terms and conditions of the RFQ remain the same.

Thank you.

Best,

Background
The SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, operated by Stanford University for the Department of Energy, is seeking to procure an optical measurement system. As a management and operating contractor, SLAC's subcontracts are not Federal procurements and are not directly subject to the Federal Acquisition Regulations. However, certain Federal laws and regulations may influence their purchasing system. The goal of this contract is to acquire a specific optical measurement system that meets detailed technical criteria.

Work Details
The contract requires the delivery of one Optical tip, tilt and distance measurement system with additional integrated roll measurement. The technical criteria for the product include:

1) Non-contact optical measurement method;
2) Measurement of mirror surface height to 1nm effective resolution;
3) Measurement of mirror surface slope to sub-microradian resolution in two orthogonal axes;
4) Measurement of mirror vibration amplitude from 1 to 100 Hz in both translation and rotation modes;
5) Measurement working distances from 5 to 200cm;
6) Simultaneous measurement of distance and two orthogonal rotation angles of the mirror to specified resolution;
7) Measurement of a third rotational displacement angle by any means including contact methods;
8) Environmental measurement and compensation if sensitive to changes in environment (e.g., air temperature, humidity).

The quote is for product only; no on-site services are permitted.
