Old Dental Abatement at Castle Point VAMC

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs is issuing this contract for the abatement of asbestos and lead-containing materials in Building 16 at the Castle Point VAMC. The project aims to ensure a safe environment by removing hazardous materials from the Engineering and EMS Shop Renovation area, which encompasses approximately 3000 square feet. The goal is to complete the abatement in accordance with the design documents provided in this procurement.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all professional services necessary for the completion of asbestos abatement within the specified area, following design drawings and specifications. Key tasks include:
- Abatement of both friable and non-friable asbestos-containing material (ACM) as outlined in the project specifications.
- Compliance with safety codes and licensing requirements, including adherence to NFPA, OSHA, and VA Design Guides.
- Coordination of field investigations, design reviews, pre-construction meetings, interim and final inspections, and closeout documentation preparation.
- Utilization of VISN 2 Autodesk Build Construction management platform for project management and collaboration, including training for staff on this platform.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract is 90 days from Notice to Proceed (NTP).

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the VA Hudson Valley Healthcare System, Castle Point Campus, located at 41 Castle Point Road, NY 12590.
