Official USDA 840 LF RFID ID tags approved for cattle and bison

Background
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Animal Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Veterinary Services (VS) is issuing solicitation number 12639526R0001 as a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the procurement of Official USDA plastic, tamper evident, low frequency radio identification (LF RFID) 840 button-type ear tags approved for cattle and bison.

This acquisition is unrestricted and open to all responsible USDA approved manufacturers of official low frequency 840 devices. The goal of this contract is to support the Animal Disease Traceability (ADT) Program by ensuring a reliable supply of AIN compliant RFID cattle ear tags.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide USDA approved, Animal Identification Number (AIN) compliant, Half Duplex (HDX) Low Frequency (LF) RFID ear tags.

The overall estimated need is five (5) to eight (8) million tags per year, which is not guaranteed but represents the current estimated requirement across all contracts. The tags must meet the following specifications:
- Type: Low Frequency RFID ear tags
- Compliance: AIN compliant
- Quantity: Estimated at 8 million per month for five ordering periods
- Delivery: FOB Destination to USDA APHIS, Minneapolis, MN.

The price schedule includes:
- CLIN 0001: Ordering Period 1 - 8 Million EA
- CLIN 1001: Ordering Period 2 - 8 Million EA
- CLIN 2001: Ordering Period 3 - 8 Million EA
- CLIN 3001: Ordering Period 4 - 8 Million EA
- CLIN 4001: Ordering Period 5 - 8 Million EA

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract is five (5) years from the date of award.
