NWS WSR-88D Radome inspection, repair and engineering non-personal services   2

Background
The National Weather Service (NWS) is seeking non-personal services for Next Generation Radar (NEXRAD) WSR-88D Radome inspection, repair, and engineering services. The NEXRAD program is a joint effort of the Department of Commerce (DOC), the Department of Defense (DOD), and the Department of Transportation (DOT). The operational user agencies involved are the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Weather Service (NWS), the DOD’s United States Air Force (USAF), and the DOT’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The NEXRAD Program has deployed 162 operational Weather Surveillance Radars - 1988 Doppler (WSR-88D) weather radar systems throughout the United States and at selected overseas locations. The WSR-88D Radar Operations Center (ROC) located in Norman, OK has support management responsibility for these radars for the tri-agency NEXRAD program. Part of the support management responsibility associated with these radars is the maintenance of the radome structure in a fully operational condition to ensure the mission of the tri-agency radar network can be continuously met.

Work Details
The contract requires technical evaluation and support services for life-cycle maintenance and catastrophic recovery of the radomes existing in its weather radar network. The scope includes initial WSR-88D Radome Inspection and Engineering evaluation services, installation and repair services, supplies and materials provision, as well as engineering data and change proposal services. The Contractor shall provide inspection and engineering evaluation services for individual radomes based on OEM specifications, provide installation and repair services based on inspection results, deliver OEM parts and materials required for installation, replacement, or repair of radomes, and provide WSR-88D radome engineering data and/or engineering change proposals for modification of the current configuration of the WSR-88D radome.

Period of Performance
The period of performance will be from 08/17/2022 through 08/16/2027. The contract period of performance is for five years with one year ordering periods designated in the schedule: Ordering Period 1: 08/17/2022-08/16/2023; Ordering Period 2: 08/17/2023-08/16/2024; Ordering Period 3: 08/17/2024-08/16/2025; Ordering Period 4: 08/17/2025-08/16/2026; Ordering Period 5: 08/17/2026-08/16/2027.

Place of Performance
The geographic locations where the contract will be performed include various sites across different states such as Alabama, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma.
