NTF Liquid Nitrogen Pump 12 Critical Spare

Background
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is issuing this solicitation for the procurement of a critical spare part, specifically a Liquid Nitrogen Pump 12 (P12), which is essential for the operation of the National Transonic Facility.

This facility is a high-pressure, cryogenic, closed-circuit wind tunnel that utilizes supercold nitrogen gas to replicate true flight aerodynamics. The goal of this contract is to acquire a fully interchangeable replacement pump that meets the specifications of the existing Cryostar CS400/20L model.

Work Details
The contract requires the procurement of a Liquid Nitrogen Pump that is fully interchangeable with the existing Cryostar CS400/20L-1.7-CB-WB C/0, specifically designed to match the mechanical, electrical, and control interfaces of the current pump (Serial Number 96013).

The specifications for the existing pump include:
- Single Stage
- 400 mm nominal impeller diameter
- 355 mm trimmed impeller diameter
- 20 mm tip width
- 1780 rpm

Operating data requirements are as follows:
- Liquid Nitrogen (LN2) at (-195°C) liquid temperature
- Maximum suction pressure of 5 barg
- Minimum NPSH of 1.4m
- Flow rate of 1300 gpm
- Differential head of 180 ft.

Additionally, the existing motor specifications are:
- 405 TD, NEMA standard
- 60 Hz, 3 Phase, 480V, with a capacity of 100 Hp.
