Construction Services needed at NREL (Amended See Attachments). This project requires the successful awardee to completely renovate and expand approximately 3000 sq. ft of laboratory spaces and some associated support spaces in the Fuel Test Laboratory Building (FTLB) at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) located in Golden, Colorado. The scope includes demolition and space reconfiguration, coordinating with NREL for asbestos removal from existing chemical hoods, providing new casework and chemical hoods, new finishes, high purity piping, plumbing, HVAC equipment and electrical installations for lighting and equipment.

The laboratory facilities support microbial bioenergetics research within the Biosciences Center that will strategically position Biochemical and Biophysical characterizations in adjacent areas to better coordinate generation of redox enzymes, strains development and the analytical capabilities in a safe manner.

The work effort also requires removal of casework, chemical hoods (including coordinating removal of asbestos containing hoods) interior walls, HVAC equipment, plumbing, piping, electrical, fire, etc. and reconstructing the laboratory areas included in FTLB 173, 174, 175, 176, 178 and fan coil units in the neighboring office area, including all scope shown on the drawings and in the project specifications.
