Description

This Justification and Approval for Other Than Full and Open Competition has been reviewed and approved in accordance with established NASA procedures and is hereby published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.305. As the Government's intent to acquire using other than full and open competition was previously published on the Government-wide Point of Entry (Contract Opportunities) and all public comments considered at that time, the Government does not intend to respond further concerning this publication.

Background
This Justification and Approval for Other Than Full and Open Competition has been reviewed and approved in accordance with established NASA procedures and is hereby published in accordance with 6.305. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Kennedy Space Center is issuing a sole source award to North Star Imaging (NSI) for the acquisition of the NSI X5000 225kV Micro-focus/450kV Meso-focus Computed Tomography System.

Work Details
The NSI X5000 225kV Micro-focus/450kV Meso-focus Computed Tomography System provides a wide range of power, resolution, and reconstruction capability by utilizing a dual tube configuration within a single cabinet. It includes a Varex 4343 DRZ (Gadox) Scintillator with 150-micron pixel pitch, redesigned manipulator and secondary algorithm, mosiaX, and software (efx-DR and efx-CT) that works in conjunction with the x-ray system hardware to capture images for inspection. The estimated value of this procurement is $1,489,779.00.
