Notice of Intent to Award Sole Source to Metamagnetics   2

The Department of the Navy, Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC Pacific) hereby publicizes its intention to solicit, negotiate, and award a Commercial Firm-Fixed-Price FAR 13 purchase order on a non-competitive basis with Metamagnetics, of Westborough, MA 01581 (CAGE Code: 5HV34). This is a new procurement. The requirement is for the purchase of the following:

The justification for a non-competitive award is as follows. No other commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) filters exist that adapt automatically to the different types of interference from different types of radar. Only the Metamagnetics 1GHz-18GHz Multiplexed Auto-Tune Filter provides the frequency band and filtering characteristics necessary for this requirement. Additionally, these filters have been previously purchased and installed by the Navy. It is imperative that same filters are procured for follow-on shipboard installations, for consistency, configuration management, sustainment, and support.
The applicable NAICS Code is 334419, Other Electronic Component Manufacturing and the business size standard is 750 Employees.
Be advised that the aforementioned information is anticipatory in nature and is not binding. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any firm believing that it can provide these items may be considered by the agency. Interested parties may identify its interest and capabilities in response to this synopsis, and must clearly demonstrate the firm's ability to be responsive without compromising the quality, accuracy, and reliability of items provided.
