SUBJECT: MAINTENANCE SERVICE AGREEMENT FOR HOLOGIC/ PANTHER FUSION LABORATORY INSTRUMENTATION AT 6 PUBLIC HEALTH LABORATORIES.

THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT.

The Health Readiness Contracting Office (HRCO), Joint Base San Antonio, Fort Sam Houston, TX intends to award a firm fixed price contract on a sole source basis to Hologic Sales and Service, LLC of 250 Campus Dr., Marlborough, MA 01752-3020 for an annual maintenance service contract for the Government owned Hologic Panther and Panther Fusion Laboratory Instruments, to include all labor, parts, material, and travel, to repair and/or maintain the Government owned equipment, in a fully functional condition in accordance with (IAW) Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) specifications. This contract is for a base year plus 4 additional year-long ordering periods.

The Government intends to procure from only one source under the authority of FAR 13.501(a)(1)(ii) sole source (including brand name) under the authority of the simplified procedures for certain commercial items. The provision of highly specialized services when it is likely that award to any other source would result in - (A) Substantial duplication of cost to the Government that is not expected to be recovered through competition; or (B) Unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agency's requirements.

HRCO intends to solicit and negotiate only with Hologic Sales and Service, LLC under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1). THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. A solicitation will not be published.
