Background
The Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) requires non-personal services to operate the on-site Security Destruction Center. The primary objective is to ensure the secure receipt, logging, staging, and physical destruction of paper files and sensitive materials in accordance with Department of Navy security protocols.

This contract aims to meet the DoD and NAVSEA destruction of information requirements, utilizing industrial disintegrators and heavy shredding units to safely destroy classified and sensitive materials.

Work Details
The contractor will provide labor to operate the Security Destruction Center, which includes:
- Operating two large industrial disintegrators and various other destruction equipment.
- Collecting burn bags and transporting them for bulk destruction.
- Coordinating with shipyard points of contact for burn bag pickups via phone or NMCI email.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the day and traversing vertical ladders over 20 feet high.
- Conducting inspections of disintegrator systems to clear clogs and jams.
- Safeguarding classified and controlled unclassified information during handling and storage.
- Maintaining cleanliness of the facility at the end of each workday.

Staffing requirements include one Lead (Material Coordinator) and four Operators (Material Handling Laborers).

Period of Performance
One 12-month Base Year, plus four 12-month Option Years, with an optional 6-month extension.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be small businesses as this opportunity is a Small Business Set Aside - Total (SBA). All contractor personnel must possess and maintain an active SECRET security clearance with Restricted Data access prior to the start of performance. Additionally, personnel must have valid driver's licenses to operate government vehicles in an industrial setting.
