Background
The Gallup Indian Medical Center (GIMC) is a Service Unit under the jurisdiction of the Navajo Area Indian Health Service, located in Gallup, New Mexico. It provides federal health services to American Indians and Alaska Natives, aiming to ensure comprehensive and culturally acceptable personal and public health services.

The GIMC is a 74-bed facility that handles a significant workload with approximately 250,000 outpatient encounters and 5,800 inpatient admissions annually. The Indian Health Service (IHS) is responsible for providing these health services, which are critical due to the nationwide shortage of nurses, particularly in remote areas served by IHS. This contract seeks to address this shortage by procuring non-personal healthcare services for the Emergency Department at GIMC.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide Registered Nursing Services for the Emergency Department at the Gallup Indian Medical Center. The scope includes:
1. Providing emergency department nursing services to IHS patients.
2. Performing nursing duties as described in the Statement of Duties and maintaining full duty status as documented in a physical exam after RN selection for that position.
3. Ensuring compliance with IHS Service Units and/or Health Centers published Policies; Procedures; Standards of Care; and hospital and nursing Protocols.
4. Managing patient care needs while adhering to confidentiality standards under HIPAA.
5. Participating in training and orientation programs specific to the Navajo culture.
6. Completing required competencies including but not limited to blood component administration, medication administration competency exams, and charting/documentation standards.

Period of Performance
The contract period of performance is from July 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025, with options for extensions in six-month increments up to three years.
