Nogales IOI Rehabilitation Phase 4 & 5   2

Background
The United States Section of the International Boundary and Water Commission (USIBWC) is issuing a solicitation for the purpose of rehabilitating approximately 18,009 linear feet of the existing sewer pipeline known as the International Outfall Interceptor (IOI) in Nogales, Arizona. The existing sewer pipeline was installed between 1970 and 1971 and is comprised of unlined, reinforced and unreinforced concrete pipe that ranges in size between 24 inches and 42 inches in diameter. The rehabilitation of the Trunkline and IOI is subdivided into five phases. The work under this Contract is limited to Phases 4 and 5 of the projects within the IOI segment only and the pipe size of 30 inches in diameter.

Work Details
The major construction tasks for rehabilitation include bypass pumping to maintain sewerage conveyance during rehabilitation, sewer line cleaning, television inspection of sewer line, installation of Cured-in-Place Pipe (CIPP), installation of Protective Lining Systems in concrete manholes, rehabilitation of manholes using Carbon Fiber Composite, demolition of existing sanitary sewer manholes, installation of new sanitary sewer manholes, and raising of existing manholes to grade by the use of grade rings or new precast concrete manhole sections. The work is located in Santa Cruz County, Arizona. The magnitude of the project is more than $10,000,000. The work is located within various Right-of-Ways (ROWs), including the City of Nogales, the Arizona Department of Transportation, Santa Cruz County, and Union Pacific Railroad, and also located within private property.

Period of Performance
All Contract work shall be completed within eight hundred forty (840) calendar days after the Notice to Proceed. The final paperwork for closeout of the Contract shall be completed within one hundred eighty (180) calendar days of completion of the construction.

The work is located in Santa Cruz County, Arizona.
