NIST Boulder Building 4 Room 1318 Fire Suppression Updates

Background
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is part of the Department of Commerce and is located at 325 Broadway in Boulder, Colorado. It serves as a research and development facility, housing agencies such as NIST, NOAA, and NTIA.

The Office of Facilities and Property Management (OFPM) at NIST is responsible for maintaining and renovating spaces within the campus. This contract aims to update the fire suppression system in Building 4, Room 1318 by adding two new sprinkler heads and relocating one existing sprinkler head to enhance safety measures.

Work Details
The contractor is required to perform the following tasks:
1. Add two (2) fire sprinkler heads using flex pipe, ensuring that the new heads have the same K-Factor and RTI as the existing ones.
2. Relocate one existing sprinkler head on a dry fire suppression system according to engineered drawings and specifications provided in attachments.

The contractor must coordinate all activities with the Government Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) throughout the project duration.

Period of Performance
The contract work shall be completed within 60 days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed (NTP).

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed on-site at the NIST campus located in Boulder, Colorado.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must meet specific requirements including being a small business concern as this solicitation is set aside for small businesses. Additionally, contractors must provide bid/payment/performance bonds, possess necessary contractor licenses, and submit a detailed site-specific Safety Plan within 7 days after award that complies with OSHA standards.
