Description

The contractor shall provide maintenance and repair for HITEC diesel rotary and uninterruptible power supply (DRUPS) units, building 12A.

Background
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) conducts the world's largest biomedical research program and is comprised of twenty-five different institutes and centers. The agency's mission is to pursue biomedical research, and its activities are performed in numerous laboratories, research hospital, and support facilities on the NIH's main 340-acre campus in Bethesda, MD. Due to the unreliability and fluctuation of the power grid, NIH has supplemented the power requirements with four HITEC diesel rotary uninterruptable power supply (DRUPS) units to provide critical power support for research data collecting facilities and equipment in building 12A. The Division of Facility Operations and Maintenance (DFOM) at NIH is responsible for providing maintenance services for all buildings and facilities, including the maintenance and repair of the DRUPS units.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide full service, comprehensive, fixed cost for Monitoring, Inspection, Testing, Maintenance, and Reporting Emergency Response for the HITEC diesel rotary uninterruptible power supply (DRUPS) units. This includes repairs under normal tasks and emergency response conditions at incident cost to maintain the operation of services uninterruptable power sources (UPS), units to include four MTU brand diesel engines, preventative, and emergency services. The contractor shall perform inspections, testing, maintenance, and repairs using manufacturer documentation and guidelines.
Additionally, they shall provide daily monitoring three hundred-sixty-five days a year including holidays. The contractor shall also maintain an inventory of repair parts and materials.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for the base contract is from 06/11/2024 to 06/10/2025 with four one-year options extending until 06/10/2029.

Place of Performance
The contract work will be performed at the National Institutes of Health main campus in Bethesda, MD.
