Background
The National Forests in North Carolina is soliciting for trail maintenance, construction, and assessment services on motorized and non-motorized, wilderness and non-wilderness trails across the state of North Carolina. The contract type is Multiple Award Indefinite Delivery / Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ), Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Construction. The solicitation is expected to result in multiple IDIQ contracts with one base and four option years that may be exercised at the discretion of the Government. The contract work is inclusive of the Base Period and all option periods. Task orders will be competed among awarded IDIQ contractors based on the specifications of this solicitation and the resultant contract.

The work will consist of restoring original trail templates, including clearing, removing slough and berm, filling ruts and troughs, reshaping backslopes, excavation, reshaping trail tread, restoring drainage, constructing grade dips, removing rocks, roots, and stumps, rehabilitation or construction of trail structures such as stairways, retaining walls, and handrails, obliterating social trails, installing check dams, constructing new trail sections and trail relocations. The work may also consist of performing trail assessments and flagging new trail routes and trail relocation routes.

Work Details

Period of Performance
The contract includes one base year with four option years that may be exercised at the discretion of the Government.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at various locations within the administrative boundaries of the National Forests in North Carolina including eight NFNC Ranger Districts: Croatan (New Bern), Uwharrie (Troy), Grandfather (Nebo), Appalachian (Mars Hill), Pisgah (Pisgah Forest), Nantahala (Franklin), Cheoah (Robbinsville), Tusquitee (Murphy).
