NFPC Three Year Weld

Background
The Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD) is a Department of Defense entity responsible for research and development, test and evaluation, engineering, and fleet support for the Navy's ships, submarines, military watercraft, and unmanned vehicles.

The contract is for non-personal services to support the Naval Foundry and Propeller Center (NFPC), which is responsible for the design, manufacture, and repair of propulsors and related components for the US Navy. The Government requires certified welders to perform welding work to U.S. Naval standards on Nickel Aluminum Bronze (NAB) materials.

Work Details
The contract encompasses a three-year Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) Indefinite-Delivery, Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) weld service agreement.

Each delivery order will require two certified welders for a duration of two weeks (80 hours) per trip, with a maximum of five trips per contract year. All travel, material, and direct costs must be included in the FFP for each order. The welders will perform multi-pass welding repairs using MIG and TIG processes on both small and large naval structures.

They are expected to work on unique weld repairs that may require depths of six inches or more while minimizing distortions. The contractor must submit Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) prior to commencing work. Additionally, welders must demonstrate their ability through visual inspections upon arrival at NFPC.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Naval Foundry and Propeller Center facilities.
