Nexsa X-Ray Photoelectron Spectrometer (XPS) System   2

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Kennedy Space Center (KSC) has a requirement for one (1) Nexsa X-ray Photoelectron Spectrometer (XPS) System. The acquisition requires the instrument including accessories, operating software, extended warranty and installation services.

NASA KSC intends to issue a sole source contract award to acquire the one (1) Nexsa XPS System with depth profiling and Raman spectrometer from Thermo Fisher Scientific, d.b.a. FEI Company, 5350 NE Dawson Creek Drive, Hillsboro, Oregon, 97124 under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(2). The proposed action will be a firm-fixed price contract. No other supplier can provide an advanced x-ray photoelectron spectrometer meeting the technical requirements for KSC's Materials Analysis Laboratory. The manufacturer, Thermo Fisher Scientific, d.b.a. FEI Company, is the only supplier of the Nexsa XPS system and retails the instrument directly to consumers. Additionally, no other vendors are authorized for the sale and distribution of the equipment.

The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using the provisions, clauses and procedures prescribed in FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13. Place of Performance: NASA/KSC, FL 32899.
