Background
The Newport Bay Harbor Maintenance Dredging project is issued by the US Army Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles District. The project aims to maintain the federal channels in Newport Bay Harbor by dredging approximately 800,000 cubic yards of sediment. The goal is to achieve depths ranging from -15 feet to -20 feet, ensuring navigability and environmental compliance.

The dredged material will be disposed of at designated sites, including the LA-3 Ocean Dredged Material Disposal Site and Pier G at the Port of Long Beach.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
1. Dredging approximately 800,000 cubic yards of sediment from federal channels in Newport Bay Harbor.
2. Achieving target depths between -15 feet and -20 feet.
3. Placement of dredged material at two locations:
a) LA-3 Ocean Dredged Material Disposal Site;
b) Pier G slip at the Port of Long Beach.
4. Compliance with all environmental regulations and specifications outlined in Section 35 24 00 regarding placement requirements at both disposal sites.

Period of Performance
The contract period will extend until the completion of dredging activities and material placement, expected to be finalized prior to December 1, 2025.
