Newborn Screening Services for Madigan Army Medical Center   2

The U.S. Army, MEDCOM, Regional Health Contracting Office-Pacific (Joint Base Lewis-McChord Health Contracting Branch), Lacey, WA, issued a sole source award to the Washington State Department of Health for a base period plus four option periods for Newborn Screening Services in support of the Department of Pathology, Madigan Amy Medical Center, Joint Base Lewis McChord (Tacoma) WA. Wash. Rev. Code 70.83.020 requires the Washington State Department of Health to conduct screening tests of each newborn child, born in any setting, within the State of Washington. Each newborn receives certain metabolic screening tests for phenylketonuria and other heritable or metabolic disorders leading to intellectual disabilities or physical defects.
