New Caustic Soda Contract   3

Background
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Baltimore District is looking to issue an indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) single-award delivery-order contract for furnishing all Washington Aqueduct’s Caustic Soda 25%. The caustic soda is used at Washington Aqueduct’s two water treatment plants, Dalecarlia WTP and McMillan WTP. The caustic soda shall conform to the requirements of ANSI/AWWA Standard B501, latest revision, for Caustic Soda, except as modified or supplemented herein, and shall be certified to meet NSF/ANSI Standard 60.

Work Details
The contract requires the furnishing of Caustic Soda 25% in bulk form for a period of three years from the date of award, with a total maximum contract capacity not to exceed 4,200 dry tons over the three-year contract duration. The minimum quantity required is 10 dry tons. Upon contract award, the offeror must forward various information including product information bulletin from product manufacturer, certification from accredited certification organization of compliance with NSF/ANSI 60, Safety Data Sheet (SDS), contact information for sales, ordering, dispatching, delivery, technical support, and safety information, emergency contact number and email address, and a completed, signed Accident Prevention Plan (APP).

The Caustic Soda supplied shall meet or exceed the ANSI/AWWA Standard B501 and be in liquid form without containing particles or gelatinous material that will clog metering pumps and appurtenances.

Period of Performance
The period of performance shall be for a period of three years from the date of award for a total of 36 months.

Place of Performance
The product will be delivered to Washington Aqueduct Division Plant Ops BR Dalecarlia Section at 5900 MacArthur Blvd NW, Washington, DC 20016-2514.
