Background
The U.S. Department of State (DOS), Office of the Procurement Executive (OPE) on behalf of the Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO), is seeking top constructors to provide Design-Build Construction Services for a new Controlled Access Area (CAA) Annex at the Embassy Compound in Nairobi, Kenya.

The goal of this contract is to produce facilities of outstanding quality and value, available for full and open competition.

Work Details
The contract will involve firm fixed-price construction services that include: providing construction labor and materials to execute the OBO-accepted design; on-site organization with management for overall project coordination; preparation of construction documents; quality control plans; safety plans; project schedules; cost estimates; and project close-out activities.

The types of design services required may include architecture, civil, structural, geo-technical, seismic, blast, mechanical, electrical, telecommunication, fire protection engineering, sustainable design, energy conservation, energy modeling, pollution prevention, space planning, interior design, physical and technical security measures, vertical transportation systems, lighting design, landscape design, cost estimating, value engineering, and administrative coordination among various disciplines.

The D/B contractor will also be responsible for completing all design and engineering documents based on specific design direction provided in the RFP.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at the Embassy Compound in Nairobi, Kenya.
