Navy - NAVSUP - Lucent Support Services - MRAS

On behalf of the Navy, the General Services Administration (GSA) is conducting market research to identify capable contractors for providing technical support services for Lucent 5ESS Switches. This initiative is part of a broader effort to ensure uninterrupted telecommunications and cyber security functions at key naval installations, including Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Naval Station Mayport, and Submarine Base Kings Bay. The overarching goal of this contract is to maintain operational readiness and communication efficiency across these strategic locations by leveraging external expertise in managing and supporting existing telecommunication infrastructure.

The primary work requested involves establishing a remote technical service support renewal for the existing government-owned Lucent 5ESS equipment. The contractor will be responsible for providing continuous technical advice and guidance via telephone or email, as well as ensuring timely patch and maintenance releases. Additionally, the contract requires 24/7 access to support personnel who can assist resident and tenant commands within the Area of Responsibility (AOR) of NCTAMS LANT N9 Jacksonville BCO Division. This requirement emphasizes maintaining current systems rather than introducing new switch systems or DDMs systems.

The scope of work outlined in the Performance Work Statement (PWS) specifies that the contractor will not only provide remote support but also be available for onsite maintenance when necessary. This dual approach ensures that any potential issues with the Lucent 5ESS Switches can be addressed promptly, minimizing downtime and maintaining critical communication channels for naval operations.
