Description

Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD), has a procurement request for a 2KW handheld laser welding system. See attached Combined Synopsis/Solicitation

Background
The Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) is responsible for advancing research and development in welding and material processing. The division supports various Department of Defense (DoD) organizations and aims to enhance the fabrication of pressure hulls through the 'Welded Pressure Hull Model Process Improvement Study' program. This contract seeks to acquire a user-friendly 2KW handheld laser welding system that enhances manufacturing efficiency and productivity, particularly for the next-generation SS(N)X submarine.

Work Details
The contract requires a 2KW Handheld Laser Welder System, which must include:
- 2KW Laser Machine
- Wire Feeder with software
- Laser Torch
- 11-foot steel conduit wire
- 11-foot aluminum conduit wire
- Welding Cabinet
- Laser Safety Glasses
- Accessory kit including:
- Laser Welding Helmet
- Torch Cradle
- Torch Cover
- Welding Nozzles (5 each)
- Cleaning Nozzles (3 each)
- Contact Tips
- Protective Windows with O-rings (5 pack each)
- 10-foot Cat 6 Ethernet Cable
- Work sense clamp
- Smith Regulator
- 5 Foot gas hose
- .045-inch V-groove and .047-inch U-groove 4-roll drive roll kits
- Trigger cable
- Door Interlock Switch. Additionally, the procurement includes one year of current firmware updates and an option for one year of remote firmware upgrades. On-site customer training is required within 30 days after equipment delivery.

Period of Performance
All equipment must be delivered no later than September 15, 2025.
