The VA MEDICAL CENTER has two neon signs, one on the east and one on the west side of building 1, which is outdated and requires repairing.

The Phoenix VA Sign and Building Letters Replacements project involves replacing the outdated and non-functional neon signs on the east and west sides of building 1 at the VA Medical Center. The project aims to repair and make operational the VA Medical sign lighting through an upgrade by retrofitting the current lighting system to a 110-volt LED retrofit. The repair work includes removing the current VA symbol and replacing it with a new designed VA symbol with LED illumination, retrofitting the remaining letters (MEDICAL CENTER) by replacing the neon lighting apparatus with an LED retrofit, evaluating each letter for suitability for wet or damp location, repairing or replacing damaged covers on the lettering, creating maintenance access points on each letter for ease of maintenance, and ensuring that all work meets wet or damp location standards.
