SC-Bears Bluff NFH, Acquire and Install Two, 3-Ton Heat Pump Packaged System-
Two, 3-ton heat pump packaged systems are needed at Bears Bluff NFH to provide heat and cooling for the station s two quarters buildings (one unit/building). The quarters provide living arrangements on site for staff and their families. The current heat pump systems providing HAVC services for the quarters are old and reaching the end of their functional life. Contractor shall provide permanent installation of two new 3-ton 15 SEER heat pump packaged units with 8KW electric heat strips in the two quarters buildings (one unit/building) at Bears Bluff.

Background
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) is issuing this solicitation for the acquisition and installation of two 3-ton heat pump packaged systems at the Bears Bluff National Fish Hatchery (NFH) located in Wadmalaw Island, South Carolina. The purpose of this contract is to provide heating and cooling for the station's quarters buildings, which serve as living accommodations for staff and their families.

The existing HVAC systems are outdated and nearing the end of their operational life, necessitating replacement to ensure safe indoor temperature and humidity levels.

Work Details
The contractor shall perform the following tasks:
1. Remove existing HVAC units, including both indoor and outdoor components of the split system, with all refrigerant handling and disposal managed by the contractor.
2. Properly dispose of all removed materials off-site.
3. Install two new 3-ton 15 SEER heat pump packaged units outside each quarters building on new equipment pads, ensuring proximity to existing units with prior approval from the station Project Leader.
4. Install a new sheet metal filter box suitable for a 20-inch x 30-inch air filter, along with an air filter and grill in the location of the former air handler.
5. Connect new supply and return ductwork to the new packaged units using tape seal and mastic connections, incorporating new duct fittings; supply duct must be 16-inch hard duct with surrounding insulation of at least 3 inches.
6. Install a new 2-stage thermostat.

The contract performance period is from September 2, 2025, to October 31, 2025.
