The Yamaha YHR-871IID's medium-sized yellow brass bell ensures that this horn covers everything from mellow soft passages to brassy loud passages with equal aplomb. And it sounds outstanding in all registers, with a secure high register, robust projection, and snappy attack from its Bb horn and a rich, warm timbre from its F horn. This bell employs a thick rim wire, which ensures a rich, deep tone with a solid core. Lastly, the YHR-871IID features a clear lacquer finish that adds a delicate warmth to your overall sound. The YHR-871IID features gold brass inner tubes on all tuning sides to enhance its tonal clarity and depth, while the round main tuning slide ensures ideal blowing resistance. A nickel-silver valve casing ensures superior response and long-lasting durability, bolstered by a hollow rotor that further refines the horn's tone and articulation. The YHR-871IID has a fourth thumb lever and pinky hook, and the Bb second valve slide includes a convenient long-pull ring for easy handling. The 0.476-in. bore facilitates an incredibly full-bodied sound and impressive volume.

P chner bassoons feature in orchestras all over Europe, and have a renewed following in the US. The wood, curly mountain maple, ages for over 20 years in their workshop. The new bore design, which is the same among all of P chner's models, is thick-walled and allows for greater projection and volume without sacrificing tone quality or flexibility. The keys feature silver plating. All P chner bassoons possess full professional key work: high D and E keys, rollers for both little fingers and the right thumb, and a left-hand whisper key lock. In addition, the Model Superior features rollers for low D, low C, the whisper key, and C# key; additionally, all rollers are mother-of-pearl. It has an articulated Ab-Bb trill key, which can be used for G-Bb, Gb-Bb, and F-Bb tremolos. The low Bb key features a special adjustment screw for dampening and adjusting intonation on the low notes.
