Mulching Hazardous Fuels, Brazoria NWR, TX   2

Background
The contract is issued by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) for the purpose of mulching hazardous fuels at the Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) in Texas.

The mission of the FWS is to conserve, protect, and enhance fish, wildlife, and plants and their habitats for the continuing benefit of the American people. The goal of this contract is to reduce hazardous fuel loads in order to prevent wildfires that could threaten government and private property.

Work Details
The contractor will perform mulching of vegetation including large trees, small trees, and brush over a total area of 63.2 acres within the Churchwell unit of Brazoria NWR.

All vegetation must be mulched down to ground level without disturbing the mineral soil within designated units. The government reserves the right to relocate the project to a similar site within the refuge if access is hindered by weather conditions or other priority projects arise. The contractor is responsible for providing all necessary personnel, equipment, supplies, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, and non-personal services required to complete the work as defined in this Performance Work Statement.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract is from September 1, 2025, through February 28, 2026.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed within the boundaries of Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge located in Brazoria, Texas.
