Mt-Medicine Lake NWR-Replace Fence

Background
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) is issuing this solicitation for construction services at the Medicine Lake National Wildlife Refuge in Medicine Lake, MT. The goal of the contract is to replace and install approximately 2.5 miles of fencing, which includes removing 1.5 miles of old fence and adding an additional mile of new fence. This project is part of the agency's mission to manage and protect wildlife habitats.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for providing all personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, and other items necessary to construct, modify, and remove boundary and interior fencing in designated areas of the refuge. Specific tasks include:
- Removal of approximately 1.5 miles of existing fence and installation of new fencing.
- Installation of approximately 1 mile of new fence without removal.
- Construction specifications include using four strands for the new fence: the top three wires will be barbed wire and the bottom wire will be barbless.
- The contractor must remove all old fence materials including wire, wood posts, braces, hardware, and associated debris.
- The work area may present challenging conditions such as wet or uneven terrain with numerous drainages and rocky soil.

Period of Performance
The contract performance period is expected to commence within 10 calendar days after receiving the Notice to Proceed (NTP) and must be completed within 119 calendar days thereafter.

This solicitation is a 100% Small Business set-aside. Bidders must have a minimum 'satisfactory' past performance rating to submit a quotation.
