MT-BOZEMAN FISH TECHNOLOGY- URCHIN UNI FEED FORMULATION CONSULTING AND RESEARCH
Background
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) is issuing this solicitation for a professional scientific consulting service to support the Bozeman Fish Technology Center in Montana. The mission of the center includes improving aquaculture practices, specifically focusing on the development of formulated feeds for urchin (uni) aquaculture.

The goal of this contract is to enhance growth, gonad quality, nutritional efficiency, and sustainability in aquaculture.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:
1) Development of feeds to enhance the sustainability and product quality of urchin uni;
2) Continued development of trout diets to improve ingredient utilization and digestibility;
3) Assessing alternative ingredients as bait;
4) Data entry, statistical analyses, and report/manuscript writing for various alternative ingredient evaluation projects, including publishing data in the online nutrient digestibility database co-maintained by the USFWS.

Services required include:
- General consulting on feed formulations or specifications;
- Assistance with feed manufacture of small batches of research or production feeds;
- Conducting laboratory assays and calculations to quantify biological parameter responses;
- Managing, analyzing, and interpreting data from feeding and digestibility trials;
- Communicating research and technical guidance through presentations, reports, and/or peer-reviewed publications.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a period from February 16, 2026, to February 15, 2027.

Place of Performance
The services will be conducted at the Bozeman Fish Technology Center located at 4050 Bridger Canyon Road, Bozeman, MT 59715-8433.
