MQ-9A -25 Unmanned Air System (USA) Engineering Logistics Support (ELS) and MUX MALE Capability Development and Procurement   2

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) has awarded a Cost-Plus-Fixed- Fee (CPFF) Order under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement to General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), Poway, California, for the procurement of United States Marine Corps (USMC) unique supplies and services including Engineering Logistics Support, MUX MALE capability development and procurement for the MQ-9 system. The scope includes all required activities to ensure all operational systems, operational system mission kits, payloads, mission systems, avionics, aircraft equipment, and support equipment are mission capable and ready for tasking.

This acquisition was pursued on a sole-source basis under statutory authority of Title 10, U.S.C. Section 3204(a)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." The determination by the Government not to compete this effort was solely within the discretion of the Government.
