Project Title Mouse colony breeding service Statement of Need/Purpose and Objectives The mouse colony breeding service is an ongoing project involving our transgenic HBBS knock-in mice at Ozgene. We submitted the mouse model order through the POTS system on April 4, 2023 (POTS# 23-009588). These transgenic mice will be crossed with the Townes mouse model to generate fully humanized mice that carry only human hemoglobin. The resulting mice will be used to evaluate the effects of the KLF1 GATA1 fusion protein and -globin inducing compounds on the correction of sickle cell disease and thalassemia phenotypes in vivo.
