Project Title Mouse colony breeding service Statement of Need/Purpose and Objectives The mouse colony breeding service is an ongoing project involving our transgenic HBBS knock-in mice at Ozgene. We submitted the mouse model order through the POTS system on April 4, 2023 (POTS# 23-009588). These transgenic mice will be crossed with the Townes mouse model to generate fully humanized mice that carry only human hemoglobin. The resulting mice will be used to evaluate the effects of the KLF1 GATA1 fusion protein and -globin inducing compounds on the correction of sickle cell disease and thalassemia phenotypes in vivo. Step 1: expand wt/KI line Step 2: cross Townes to homozygous HBBS KI mice Step 3: cross wt/HBA(Townes), HBB(Townes)/HBBS to C57BL/6 The delivery address is NATIONAL HEART LUNG AND BLOOD INSTITUTE 10 Center Drive Building 10 Room 9N117 Bethesda, MD 20892 The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), Office of Intramural Management (OIM), Delegated Contracts Branch (DCB) intends to award a firm-fixed-price contract on a sole-source basis to Ozgene 5636 W 79th St Indianapolis, IN This synopsis is not a request for competitive proposals. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this notice. Responses to this notice shall contain sufficient information to establish the interested parties' bona-fide capabilities for fulfilling the requirement and include: unit price, list price, shipping and handling costs, the delivery period after contract award, the prompt payment discount terms, the F.O.B. Point (Destination or Origin), the Unique Entity ID (UEI) , the Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), and the certification of business size. All offerors must have an active registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) www.sam.gov. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The information received will normally be considered solely for the purposes of determining whether to proceed on a non-competitive basis or to conduct a competitive procurement. All responses must be received by 08/25/2025 and must reference synopsis number NHLBI-NC-25-014404. Responses shall be submitted electronically to nicholas.capobianco@nih.gov. Responses will only be accepted if dated and signed by an authorized company representative. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation
