The St Petersburg VARO has 355 existing motorized hurricane shutters that at the push of a button will raise or lower in a sequential order. The contractor shall provide all supervision, labor, administrative support, materials, tools, parts, supplies, equipment, and transportation necessary for the completion of a project to correct deficiencies found during the most recent test of the hurricane shutters. The scope of the work includes but is not limited to the repair or replacement of twenty-four (24) non-performing motorized hurricane shutters covering 4' by 8' windows.

The contractor shall perform maintenance on the twenty-four identified hurricane shutters, ensuring all shutters are responsive to master commands from the master controllers, which are operated by Metasys, a proprietary program of Johnson Controls Inc. Some shutters are capable of independent operation, but will require controls and/or electrical rework to be responsive to master commands.

Contractor shall:

a. Conduct field site survey to verify measurements, locations, and site conditions for twenty-four (24) non-performing motorized hurricane shutters at the VARO St. Petersburg, Florida.

b. Repair twenty-four (24) existing non-performing motorized hurricane shutters, which may include replacing the shutter motor, relay, manual crank, and/or intermediate switch.

c. Ensure twenty-four (24) repaired motorized hurricane shutters are tied into the existing building circuit grid (Metasys) so they raise and lower in sequential order (first floor shutters are exempt).

d. Provide required lift to access windows as required.

e. Clean and lubricate the twenty-four (24) shutters identified.

f. Properly dispose of the old residual parts.

g. Ensure construction area is free of trash and debris upon completion of this project.

The contractor shall be responsible for fixing/repair any damages to the building or any landscaping which occurs because of operating the lift on site. Damaged items shall be returned to their original state or better.

If required, Contractor shall coordinate with the system integrator involved in any new and additional component implementation to ensure that any project related warranty and contractual service on new hardware/software remains in force.

Due to the hurricane season having begun in the region, shutter maintenance shall be conducted ASAP.

Additional specifications for this requirement are detailed in the attached statement of work (SOW) which has been incorporated into the RFQ.

Each vendor may request attendance of up to two (2) representatives total (prime or subcontractor). Vendors desiring to attend the site-visit shall submit their request and contact information via email to the Customer POC and Contract Specialist not later than 25 July 2024.
