Mori Seiki Chuck Cylinder

The Commander Fleet Readiness Centers (COMFRC) Procurement Group, Patuxent River, MD 20670 hereby gives notice of their intent to award a purchase order to DMG Mori USA, 2400 Huntington Boulevard Hoffman Estates, IL 60192 (Cage Code: 5FPN0) on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b)(i), only one source reasonably available and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.

The Commander Fleet Readiness Center (COMFRC) Southwest has a requirement to procure a One-Time Repair Service for the Mori Seiki ZT2500Y Computer Numeric Control (CNC) Machine. FRCSW is requesting on-site repair service on the Mori Seiki ZT2500. Serial #ZT250DE0146. Asset # 65888041465. The Chuck Cylinder, part # K20035A02 is leaking and needs to be replaced. All performed work is in accordance with the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications. The Contractor is required to provide all labor, tools and materials, including but not limited to test equipment, alignment tools, meters, support equipment and hardware required to perform the requested service. OEM DMG Mori can provide the sub spindle chuck cylinder. They will not sell to 3rd party vendors. The sub spindle chuck cylinder is unique to the Mori Seiki ZT2500. DMG Mori also has access to the OEM procedures and steps necessary to remove/replace the unit. For this reason, the Government intends to procure these products on a sole source basis from DMG Mori. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which, if received within two (2) calendar days after the date of the publication of this synopsis, will be considered. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
