Monroe Harbor Advanced Maintenance Dredging   2

Background
The Monroe Harbor Advanced Maintenance Dredging project is issued by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). The mission of this contract is to maintain navigable waterways by mechanically dredging Monroe Harbor, which contains various materials such as boulders, rocks, and clay-like substances. The goal is to ensure the harbor is dredged to specified depths for safe navigation.

Work Details
The contractor is required to mobilize a dredge to Monroe Harbor and perform mechanical dredging. The specific tasks include:

1) Dredging the main channel to a depth of 23 feet below Low Water Datum (LWD) plus 1 foot overdepth or point of refusal from STA 60+00 to 76+00, and from STA 0+00 to 20+00 for both river and lake;

2) Dredging a section near the wall from STA 15+75 to 4+00 to a depth of 20 feet below LWD plus 1 foot overdepth or point of refusal;

3) Dredging the turning basin from STA 64+72 to 79+00 to a depth of 20 feet below LWD plus 1 foot overdepth or point of refusal;

4) Placement of dredged material will occur in Cell 3 at Pointe Mouillee Confined Disposal Facility (CDF), with no discharge allowed at this facility; and finally, demobilization upon completion of dredge work.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at Monroe Harbor and Pointe Mouillee Confined Disposal Facility.
