Description

Modified Central City and Dallas Floodway Industry Day Fort Worth District

The Modified Central City Project serves to provide $2.4 billion of continued flood protection for the citizens and properties within the City and the 2,400 acres of established Fort Worth neighborhoods. The project has various components including an approximate 8,400-foot bypass channel, three flood gates, one pump station, two dams (Samuels Avenue and Marine Creek), and valley storage mitigation sites (Gateway Park, Ham Branch, Riverside Park, Rockwood Park West, Samuels Avenue, and University Drive) to provide flood risk management functions along the Clear Fork and West Fork of the Trinity River. The project restores the design level of flood protection to the existing system by realigning the river and adding closure gates. The proposed habitat development plans will provide substantially more wetlands, riparian woodlands and stream habitat than unavoidably impacted by the project.

The Modified Dallas Floodway Project and Dallas Floodway Extension Project, both independent but interconnected federally authorized projects, primary focuses on three of five inter-related components within the Dallas Floodway System: Flood protection, ecosystem restoration, and recreation. Highlights of both projects include the construction of three new pump stations, renovation of four existing pump stations, improvement of the existing east and west levees, construction of over five miles of new levees, and various ecosystem restoration features throughout the floodway. Both the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and City of Dallas (non-federal sponsor) share the responsibility for public safety and are committed to the integrity of the system.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Fort Worth District is hosting an Industry Day for the Central City and Dallas Floodway projects on July 9, 2025, from 9:00am -3:00pm. This event will be in person with a hybrid/MS Teams option for the morning session.

The purpose of the event is to present the Central City and Dallas Floodway projects to industry and improve the understanding of Government requirements and industry capabilities. Potential offerors can judge whether they are interested or how they can satisfy the Government's requirements for the project. This enhances the Government's ability to obtain quality supplies and services, to include construction, at reasonable prices, and increase efficiency in proposal preparation, proposal evaluation, negotiation, and contract award.

This event is open to all large and small businesses interested in working with the USACE Fort Worth District. The morning will include presentations from USACE, Tarrant Regional Water District, and the City of Fort Worth followed by lunch on your own and an opportunity to network and learn more about each project feature in the afternoon.
