Background
The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) intends to award a definitive, C-type contract with Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF), Firm Fixed Price (FFP), and Cost Reimbursement provisions and options for the manufacture, testing, and delivery of MK48 Sonar Signal Transmitter (TX) and MK48 Warhead Electronic System (WES) assemblies, obsolescence refresh units, and confidence test sets on a sole-source basis to Advanced Acoustic Concepts, LLC (AAC) (CAGE Code: 1VWT7). The MK 48 Mod 7 Heavyweight Torpedo (HWT) is the U.S. Navy’s primary submarine launched anti-submarine (ASW) and anti-surface warfare (ASuW) weapon. The MK 48 Mod 7 is a high performance, self-propelled underwater vehicle that contains complex electronic and mechanical subassembly systems for providing propulsion, steering, navigation, and target detection. The system technologies include acoustic sonar, guidance and control electronics, electrical power, hydraulic systems, mechanical pumps, and propulsion.

The contract also includes options for engineering services and travel in support of engineering services. The primary place of performance will be at the Contractor’s site with occasional travel to NUWCDIVNPT (Newport, RI) or NUWC Division Keyport (Keyport, WA).
