Mk21A Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) and Production & Deployment (P&D)   3

Background
The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC), Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Contracting Division intends to issue a sole source procurement to Lockheed Martin for the Mk21A EMD and P&D contract. This Procurement will result in a single award contract. The Mk21A Reentry Vehicle (RV) program will design, develop, produce and deploy an integrated RV capable of delivering the W87-1 nuclear warhead for the GBSD weapon system. The Mk21A program competed and awarded one contract for the Technology Maturation and Risk Reduction (TMRR) phase to Lockheed Martin, with a period of performance spanning Fiscal Years 2020 to 2024.

Work Details
The Mk21A EMD contract, with options for Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP), Initial Full Rate Production (iFRP), and Full Rate Production (FRP), is expected to be performed from approximately 2023 to 2036, which includes strict deadlines for major program milestones throughout the duration of this contract’s anticipated period of performance.
