Background
The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) - Rock Island District is issuing a construction requirement for mechanical dredging in the Mississippi River Basin. This contract aims to facilitate dredging operations to maintain navigation channels and manage sediment in the river, which is crucial for transportation and environmental management.

Work Details
The contractor will perform mechanical dredging tasks including, but not limited to: laying out dredge cuts, conducting pre-dredging soundings verification, preparing government-provided dredge material placement sites, executing dredging operations, and placing dredged materials at designated sites.

The work must adhere to specific guidelines such as avoiding hydraulic dredging, verifying the existence of pipelines/utilities at each location prior to work commencement, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws. The contractor must also coordinate with other contractors and government personnel involved in the project.

Period of Performance
The contract will have a period of performance consisting of five (5) 365-day ordering periods.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed on the Mississippi River.
