Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Theater Ground Based Radar Request for Information

Background
The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) is conducting market research through the Mobile Land-Based Sensors Program Office (MDA/TBS) to assess industry interest and capability for a new radar system in support of the Golden Dome for America program.

This Request for Information (RFI) is intended solely for information and planning purposes, and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a commitment to establish a contract. MDA is not seeking proposals, and all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be borne by the respondents.

Work Details
The new radar system is designed to acquire, track, and discriminate missile threats to the U.S. homeland. It is intended to be mobile rather than a static fixed-site radar. The radar system will include multiple phased array panels combined into a system-level solution.

Key performance requirements include:
- Ballistic Missile Defense: Objective sensitivity of -10 dBsm target at 2233 km range with 15 dB SNR using single pulse or CPI dwell time no greater than 10 milliseconds, targeting 24 ballistic missile defense targets consisting of re-entry vehicles, spent boosters, decoys, jammers, and debris.
- Hypersonic Missile Defense: Objective sensitivity of -20 dBsm target at 375 km range with 15 dB SNR using single pulse or CPI dwell time no greater than 2.5 milliseconds, targeting 10 hypersonic missile defense targets consisting of glide bodies, decoys, and jammers.
- Cruise Missile Defense: Objective sensitivity of -20 dBsm target at 200 km range with 15 dB SNR using single pulse or CPI dwell time no greater than 1.0 milliseconds, targeting 24 cruise missile defense targets consisting of aerodynamic cruise missiles, decoys, and jammers.

Period of Performance
The production of the first radar unit must be completed no later than December 31, 2028, followed by two additional units to be completed no later than December 31, 2029.
