Miscellaneous Plumbing Repairs at USCG Station Wrightsville Beach   2

Background
The United States Coast Guard (USCG) is issuing this contract for miscellaneous minor plumbing repairs at the USCG Station in Wrightsville Beach, NC. The goal of this contract is to ensure the proper functioning of plumbing systems within the facility, which is critical for operational readiness and safety.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, equipment, and materials necessary for the following tasks:
1. Installation of a backflow preventer:
- Properly prepare all fixtures for loss of water by isolating power to items such as ice makers and water heaters.
- Install a new backflow prevention system that is appropriately sized to avoid contamination.
- Securely mount and support the backflow prevention system to the existing structure.
- Ensure future serviceability of the system and dispose of all excess materials offsite.

2. Galley sink drain re-piping:
- Remove existing PVC drain piping beneath the galley sink.
- Re-pipe the kitchen sink drain system using new approved materials.
- Core a hole through the building’s foundation wall to route the new drain line to the exterior.
- Extend new drain piping to tie into the existing drain line connecting to the grease trap.
- Hand-dig soil outside as needed to expose existing drains for connection.
- Seal cored holes in the foundation wall with spray foam after installation.
