Misawa AB - Campus Wi-Fi for Dorms

Background
The United States Air Force, 35th Contracting Squadron, Misawa AB, Japan, is seeking potential sources for the installation and service provision of Campus internet/Wi-Fi in multiple dormitory buildings and designated outdoor patio areas. This requirement aims to support the installation of a Managed Wi-Fi system that will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, throughout the year.

Work Details
The contractor shall deliver and install a Managed Wi-Fi system for dormitory buildings located at 539, 542, 660, 661, 664, 665, 667, 668, 671, 672, and 673 as well as five designated outdoor grill/patio areas at Misawa Air Base. The system must provide reliable wireless internet coverage throughout all dormitory rooms (approximately 1,031), common areas (26 total), the Dorm Management Office (Building 671), and outdoor recreational areas. All equipment must be new with a minimum two-year manufacturer warranty. The contractor is responsible for all labor, materials, fiber, conduit, cables, software, hardware, installation, configuration, testing, and system training required to deliver a fully operational Managed Wi-Fi system. Specific tasks include performing a professional RF site survey and wireless design analysis to determine the optimal number and placement of wireless access points needed to ensure reliable coverage. Minimum requirements include one wireless access point per four to six dormitory rooms and one per common area and outdoor recreational area.
