Background
The Minneapolis Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) is issuing a solicitation for sterile instrument maintenance and repair services. The goal of this contract is to ensure the proper maintenance and functionality of surgical instruments used within the facility, aligning with the mission of the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide high-quality healthcare to veterans.

Work Details
The contractor will provide surgical instrument preventative maintenance (PM) and repair services for the Surgical Processing Suite (SPS). Key tasks include:
- Providing an online digital inventory system to track instrument repair status and requests.
- Performing preventative maintenance by inspecting entire trays of surgical instruments.
- Ensuring repairs align with original manufacturers' specifications and standards set by relevant health organizations.
- Conducting repairs that include sharpening, adjusting, aligning, calibrating, and cleaning instruments.
- Maintaining rigid instrument containers and ensuring all lid gasket vent devices are functional.
- Performing onsite repairs twice weekly for unscheduled needs and same-day PM services for critical sets.
- Updating a digital tracker with detailed information on each instrument's repair status, including QR codes for tracking purposes.
- Returning instruments in a condition that meets specified aesthetic standards, including a mirror finish appearance and legible identification.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a five-year period from September 30, 2025, through August 31, 2030, with specific pricing periods outlined for each year.

The services will be performed at the Minneapolis Veterans Affairs Medical Center located at 1 Veterans Drive, Minneapolis, MN 55106.
